I'm not denying there's truth in those reasons but that submission of "Marching Band Most Definitely Being A Sport" just points out technicalities that can be argued with any activity.

Our first place performance. I love how the announcer said "You have one minute until final call" instead of "You have one minute remaining" and didn't pause before giving details of our group -_-. Kind of threw off our timing for the pre-show, but the overall effect is still there. (=

At my school we are lectured about our 'audience etiquette'. We are a crazy group. Holding ourselves at the top of the 5A division is surely a challenge. We beat 2nd place at our 3rd tournament by 4 tenths of a point. Four tenths. We exploded when our we heard we weren't 2nd. I can already tell how bad that will feel if we lose by so little....

Is Marching a Sport? Nope. Not Really.
Probably every marching musician likes to argue that marching is, indeed, a sport.
I like to think it isn’t. Don’t get me wrong, I personally understand all the work that goes into preparing a show and whatnot but I see marching as something beyond sports.
Think about it this way:
